Plein Air In The Mountains
Took a little trip last weekend to the west coast of Canada. Absolutely breathtaking, and my first chance to paint plein air in the mountains. The painting on top is oil...had to work quickly because my paint actually started to freeze out there (I froze too)! The smaller sketches are from life, but done on the Nintendo DS, while looking out the window.BTW, I've been posting some of my DS sketches in the Colors! Gallery

Oooooooooooooooh preeeeeeeeeeeeeeetty....love the brush strokes! They're so...I don't know. Loose? But they come together so -well- in the overall paintings.
What a gorgeous landscape to paint. I'm jealous now! It's so hot here, I'd like snow!

I hope this doesn't insult you, but it reminded me when I was a child watching Bob Ross painting branches and leafs with a flick of the wrist.
hahaha, thanks Shou. I guess my trees do look a little like 'happy trees'.
What's this? Painting on the DS? I haven't heard of that til now. I think I just found my excuse to buy one. Painting from within a warm vehicle doesn't sound too bad either. Nice job.
Oh my goodness, how do you do that on a DS?! What program is that?
