Mikayla

Another oil head study from life. This one's 9x12 on linen, which is a pretty nice surface to paint on!

I love your painting! It comes across as impressionistic. Your ballpoint pen sketches are untouchable. My half-witted doodles don't even come close!

Anyway, under music, you said "Godspeed, black emperor." The first thing that came to my mind is blackmetal, but I could be wrong.

Great to see soome traditional oils from you -you handle it real nicely. Dig the slight bit of characature in this too - gives it your personal touch.

Love the shapes of color that make up your figure. It reminds me of the collage paintings I had to do in school. Great stuff!

Great face! She's got a lot of character. I like those heavy eyelids and the pouty look. Whenever I spend time away from oil paint it's always a great pleasure to be back at it again. Oh, that reminds me, I have to go clean my brushes now.

Great painting Marco! How long are your sessions? 3 hours?

Thanks for the encouragement guys!
Shawn - I wish I had 3 hours. The sessions are 2.5 hours, so I always feel a little tight for time. Soon I think I'm gonna try really slowing down, and doing a 2.5 hour underpainting, then finish it up in the next session, since the studio has the models take the same pose a couple weeks in a row.

That is coool Marco. Yet i fee it a litle vague with no background. You should try aplying a underpainting.
