Caricature Illustration - Coach's Corner

Well, here's a rarity...something finished! This is a gift for CBC's Hockey Night In Canada. I've practically grown up watching this program. If you are Canadian, and you like Hockey, you know about the dynamics between these two guys. Anyway, the first image is the final, and the second image is examples of some of the photo reference I used, as well as a few preliminary sketches I did for likeness.
This is probably the highest degree of 'finish' I've ever put into a painting. It was weird, actually zooming in to 100% and noodling little things out. It's not quite what I'm comfortable with.
It looks as though this might actually receive some airtime on the show! Here's hoping.

Very cool Marco . . . how long did you work on this? Looks nice man! I like the composition and especially like the painting of the smaller guy in the background . . . the colors in his face are great!

Thanks guys!
I have to give a special shout out to Jason Seiler though. He gets such a nice level of finish on his work, and maintains the life. I feel like my image is a poor-man's rendition of something he'd do. I looked at his work a lot while working on this.
JC - yup, I'm a leaf fan. Although I'll be the first to admit that they're by no means anything to write home about. But they DID beat Ottawa last night! That was pretty sweet.

Great picture Marco, and awesome caricatures.

I liked the level of finish on the painting.

You have a real gift there. Are you going to do more caricatures?

Who are your favourite caricaturists?

Thanks everyone for commenting!
Mark - well, I've got a whole ton of inspirations when it comes to caricature. I'll name a few that come to mind.

Sebastien Kruger - undisputed king
Jan Opdebeeck - great exaggeration
Jason Seiler - amazing painter
Court Jones - all-round skills
Joe Bluhm - excellent live work
Wouter Tulp - great illustrator
Grigor Eftimov - extreme stuff

There are more...many more. But those guys should be relatively easy to find just on google. Some are in my links. Thanks again!
